A Cuban delegation arrived
Monday in Mexico to pay homage
to the creator of the University
Students Federation (FEU) and
the Cuban Communist Party, Julio
Antonio Mella murdered in Mexico
in 1929.
The Cuban delegation will
commemorate the 77th anniversary
of Mella in the same place he
was murdered.
This visit takes place in mid of
a very important and significant
context for the Cuban youth and
student movement, declared
Hassan Perez, sub-secretary of
the Communist Youth Union (UJC).
2006 will be a year full of
content in mid of the great and
irrepressible ideological battle
carried out by the Cuban youth,
stated Hassan Perez and
highlighted this would be again
the opportunity to strengthen
relations with Mexican
organizations and wide movement
of solidarity with the island.
Participants at this homage will
also raise their voices in favor
of the Cuban five antiterrorist
fighters unjustly imprisoned in
the US and paradigms of the best
values of Socialism and Cuban
youth, Hassan said and referred
to other significant
anniversaries for the Cuban
history and people.
