Rica Sends Observers to Watch
World Cup Rivals' Games
The Costa Rica Football
Federation said in a statement
Monday that it will send
observers to the March 1
friendly matches played by its
rivals in Group A of 2006
Germany World Cup.
Eduardo Mendez, the assistant to
Costa Rica manager Alexandre
Guimaraes, will watch the United
States-Poland match in
Kaiserlauten, Germany. Mendez,
who travelled to Germany on
Sunday, will remain there to
represent Spain at the
International Federation of
Football Association's technical
seminar for the 32 World Cup
teams.
Geovanny Alfaro, trainer of
Costa Rica's under-21 team, will
watch in Florence, Italy, the
match between Italy-Germany
friendly. He leaves on Monday.
Erick Lonis, another Guimaraes's
assistant, will watch the
Holland-Ecuador match in
Amsterdam, Holland, and then
move on to Germany to help
organize the logistics of the
Costa Rica's trip to Germany.
Costa Rica's national team will
go to Iran on Sunday, to play a
friendly with Iran's national
team.
