continuing border crossing
blockade that has been ongoing

point at Paso Canoas.

since the Tribunales Supremo de
Elecciones (TSE) finished the
manual count of the votes of
February 6, placing former
president and Noble peace prize
winner, Oscar Arias, ahead of
Ottón Solís and the TSE has yet
to make the results
"official".
U.S.
Fugitive Extradited
Russell Earl Winstead, wanted
for the homicide of a family
member in Kentucky, was
arrested last May through the
efforts of the Diplomatic
Security special agent assigned
to the U.S. Embassy in San Jose,
Costa Rica,Costa Rican police,
Interpol, the FBI, the U.S.
Marshals Service; and the
Kentucky State Police.

The Organization of American
States (OAS) team that monitored
Costa Rica's recent general
elections today hailed the
peaceful and normal way in which
the process unfolded.
Costa
Ricans Marrying Cubans Detained
in Havana
Costa Rica's Consul General in
Cuba, José María Penabad, says
that Costa Ricans who travel to
Cuba with the intent of marriage
with Cuban nationals, have been
detained and some deported by
Cuban authorities, charging them
with "trafficking of persons".
