Cuba Breaks Tourist Room Record
Cuba broke the record of foreign tourists accommodated in a day when reporting 65,280 travelers in pleasure facilities, according to an official note issued by the Tourism Ministry (MINTUR).

Released Wednesday by the MINTUR website, the report adds this number was last broken on March 25, 2005 with 64,956 people lodged in Cuban hotels.

MINTUR emphasizes despite the thorny international situation, affectations caused by natural disasters plus the intensification of measures against the island, as part of US aggressive policy, results are encouraging.

The note recalls that 2.32 million tourists visited Cuba in 2005, representing a 13.2 percent growth.
