Guatemala: Teachers Protest Neolib Policy
Surrounded by police, thousands of Guatemalan teachers from 22 departments hold today the fourth protest of the year to demand resignation of Education minister María del Carmen Aceña.

Accompanied by students and parents, the teachers march to the Congress to lodge their vote of no confidence in the minister, to be newly debated by Parliament.

The conflict began last December when the minister announced a package of reforms that, according to the teachers, are neoliberal in nature and work against public schools.
