Gasoline Price To Drop ¢25
Colones
The announcement came on
Thursday, the day that gasoline
prices jumped ¢31 coloes per
litre, that the Refinadora Costarricense de
Petróleo (Recope) would be
requesting a decrease, but no
amount was mentioned.
Friday, Recope annouced the
decrease would be ¢25 colones
for a litre of super, ¢26
colones for regular and ¢21 for
diesel.
The decrease, once approved by the Autoridad Reguladora de
Servicios Públicos (ARESEP),
would drop the price of
super to ¢463, to ¢440 from ¢466
for regular and to ¢314 from
¢335 for a litre of diesel.
The decrease would be the first
this year, following two
consecutive increases.
Gasoline prices in Costa Rica
are like a roller coaster, as
Recope adjusts prices to reflect
changes in the price of crude
oil on world markets.
