Tax Plan Will Finally Pass
Abel Pacheco, who is president
until May 8, expressed his
confidence that the long delayed
and debated Tax Reform plan will
soon receive the Legislative
Assembly's approval.
Gasoline Prices Go Up Tomorrow

Yesterday we reported that
gasoline prices would go up
early next week following the
approval of the increase by the
Autoridad Reguladora de
Servicios Públicos (ARESEP) and
waiting publication in the
official government newspaper,
La Gaceta.
Foreigners to Be Deported
Twenty foreigners are in the
hands of the Dirección General
de Migración y Extranjería
(immigration service) when their
small boat was intercepted off
the Caribbean coast at
Tortuguero, coming from San
Andres, the Colombian island off
the coast of Nicaragua.

to end its ban on imports of
U.S. beef. The FSIS Export
Library of Requirements, was
updated on Feb. 13, 2006 to
reflect Costa Rica’s decision to
allow imports of boneless U.S.
beef, tongues, kidneys, livers
and hearts.
