Venezuelan Congress Rejects Interference
The National Assembly of Venezuela condemned the US interference in the domestic affairs and the recent eviction of a Venezuelan diplomat from the US.

The resolution condemned the "escalation of US anti-Venezuela aggressions" and called the eviction of Charge d"Affair Jenny Figueredo retaliatory.

Venezuela declared US Naval Attaché John Correa persona non grata because he tried to obtain secret codes and information on military commercial deals.

Venezuela also warned that every US citizen caught spying will follow similar faith.

The discovery coincided with the tightening of verbal attacks from US officials. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld compared Chavez to Hitler.

And Intelligence director John Negroponte spoke of "Venezuelan ties" with Iran and North Korea, both on the US black list.

President Hugo Chavez blamed the US hostility to Venezuela"s decision to defend its sovereignty and recover its oil sector.

Among Washington"s latest maneuvers are pressures on Spain and Brazil to block sales of military aircraft and vessels.

Venezuela said it would purchase MIG planes from Russia due to the US persistent refusal to give maintenance its F-16 and supply spare parts.

US attorney and investigator Eva Golinger recently denounced the presence of US special covert troops in Venezuela as part of a destabilization plot.

Venezuela officially accused the US of granting financial and logistics support to the opposition in an attempt to impede Chavez" victory at the presidential elections in December.
