T&T,
Costa Rica to Expand Trade
Trinidad and Tobago local
manufacturers will be soon
expanding trade relations with
Costa Rica as they attend the
Trade and Investment mission to
the country in March.
The Free Trade Agreement (FTA)
between Costa Rica and Trinidad
and Tobago was signed in 2004.
However, it only became
effective on November 1 2005,
allowing manufacturers to
explore their trade options in
Central America.
The Trinidad and Tobago
Manufacturers Association (TTMA)
and the Ministry of Trade and
Industry officially launched the
mission, which takes place from
March 12-16, at TTMA offices in
Barataria yesterday with a
seminar on "Doing Business in
Costa Rica" for members.
Immediately preceding the
mission to Costa Rica, Minister
of Trade and Industry, Ken
Valley will be visiting Panama
on March 8-12.
This visit will act as a
precursor for the planned direct
air link between Panama and
Trinidad and Tobago, expected to
be launched in June by Copa
Airlines.
