Looks at International Economy
The 8th International Meeting of
Economists on Globalization and
Development that opens Monday in
Havana will discuss during four
days the main challenges the
world is facing today.
The event, taking place at
Havana’s Conference Center until
February 10, is gatheirng 1,300
professionals from 50 countries.
The most diverse economic
schools will be present at this
meeting, whose goal is to design
a common position faced with
global problems like energy
increase and trade liberation.
Other issues include imbalances,
the international financial
situation, trade, development as
a multi-dimensional phenomenon
and asymmetrical expansion of
economies.
Since the first edition, the
meeting has gathered different
economic trends, with the aim of
providing concrete solutions to
favor sustainable growth.
Delegates from the Latin
American Economic System, the UN
Commission for Latin America and
the World Bank, among other
institutions, are attending this
international forum.
