TSE Will Make Presidential
Results Official in 15 Days
The
president of the Tribunal
Supremo de Elecciones (TSE),
Óscar Fonseca, said today that
the results of Sunday's
presidential elections will be
official in 15 days, allowing
for a manual count of all the
ballots.
Twenty fours after the polls
closed, neither Oscar
Arias nor Ottón Solís can be
declared a winner until the TSE
makes it official.
The difference between the two
candidates is the closest ever
in Costa Rican history and the
TSE wants to be 100% sure before
announcing who will lead the new
government on May 8.
