Tourism at Slower Rhythm
Income from tourism in Costa Rica is grew at a slower pace than competitors in Central America and the Caribbean.

The yearly growth rate between the years 2000 and 2005 was 5% the second lowest among nine countries in the region.

However, Costa Rica received the largest number of visitors in Central America, 1.7 million, followed by El Salvador at 1.1 million.

Analysts
believe that Costa Rica has will continue to have a smaller growth rate during the next coming years.
