Child Exploitation in El Salvador
The United Nations Children´s fund (UNICEF) representative in El Salvador Miriam de Figueroa, denounced on Friday that impunity continues allowing the exploitation of children.

Figueroa said in the presentation of the National Campaign against the Commercial Trade of Sexual Exploitation that "much illegality exists, but it is not denounced."

She highlighted that even though it is of little importance to the government, some sectors of the country are dealing with the subject and "taking responsibility in the implementation of norms and laws to protect children, which are victims of that disaster."

She stated that formal accusations are often unregistered because the population does not know how to do them.
