Hospital Fire Suspect in Custody
The Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) finally have a suspect in their hands, arresting 24 year old, Juan Carlos Ledesma Sánchez, responsable for the fire that took 21 lives at the Calderón Guardia hospital on July 12 this year.

Armoured Car  Abandoned By Gang Following Heist
A band of thieves yesterday were successful in heisting an armoured car operated by Wackenhut with an estimated ¢100 million colones (us$205.000) inside, but was later abandoned in a coffee plantation in Barrio Santa Teresita, in Aserrí, when the thieves couldn't open the doors to the loot and became nervous, pressured by the overflights of a helicopter.

20 "Compra y Ventas" Shut Down by Police
Due to the rising number of thefts in San José, in the downtown area as well as the suburbs, San José Municipal authorities, along with members of the Fuerza Pública (police), the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) and the Policía Fiscal, visited a number of "compra y ventas" - buy and sell - shops in the city.
