Legislative Session Today
Legislators working on a Sunday? Yes, today, Sunday, there will be a session of Congress if at least 38 legislative deputies show up.

The Legislature will be going on vacation in a few weeks and the president of the Legislative Assembly obtained the support to hold sessions on weekends before the holiday break, to discuss and approve a number of pending legislations, including the Tratado Libre de Comercio (TLC) - free trade agreement with the United States - and the Tax Reforms.

One of the more important pieces of legislation to be discussed today is the "presupuesto ordinario de la Republíca" - the budget - that by law requires to be approved before the end of November.
