Trade War with Costa Rica
Costa Rica's Dos Pinos and
Panama's Grupo Melo are engaged
in a trade war that has
prohibited them from exporting
their products.
Since last August, Dos Pinos has
not been able to export its
dairy products to Panama for
failure to provide a sanitary
certification for its production
plants.
On the other hand, Grupo Melo
can't export chicken to Costa
Rica for a year now, supposedly
because of a case of salmonella.
Authorities of both countries
are trying to resolve the
conflict.
