Boyeros, A Dying Tradition

Boyeros, A Dying Tradition
Hundreds of "boyeros" took the streets of Escazú to commeratore the Día Nacional del Boyero, in the hopes of rescuing a dying tradition.

The boyeros paraded along the three kilometre route from the central park in downtown Escazú to San Antonio de Escazú. A healthy meal of omelettes and rice and beans provided the energy to climb the Escazú hilldside.

The parade was colourful with beautiful yokes and carts led by the campesinos of Costa Rica.
