Imax Corp. to Install Giant-Screen Theatre in Costa Rica
Big-screen theatre company Imax Corp. has signed deals to open its first theatre systems in San José and Guatemala City, Guatemala, the company said Tuesday.

Financial details of the deals with the companies Circuito Alba and Repretel were not disclosed.

The theatre in San Jose will be operated by Repretel, the media company that operates the local television stations 6 and 11, and is scheduled to open in 2006.

Toronto-based Imax already has agreements to install a number of its theatres in China and has also recently signed deals to open theatres in Russia, India, Pakistan and the Middle East.

As of September, there were more than 235 Imax theatres operating in 35 countries.
