Nicaragua Reports Decease of 39 Children for Diarrhea
The number of dead children stood up to 39 in Nicaragua due to the diarrhea epidemic caused by the rotavirus.

Early this week this Central American country reported around 35,000 affected people although the Health Ministry (MINSA) has not yet declared the national emergency.

According to the local press sanitary authorities are powerless before the water shortage, garbage accumulation and lack of hygiene at homes.

In addition, the doctors concern is that some mothers take their ailing children out of the hospitals before the four hours they must remain under observation with oral dehydration serums before giving the last medical opinion for their hospitalization.

The disease is mainly concentrated in Madriz, Esteli, Managua and New Segovia departments.

The term rotavirus defines a virus family sharing common characteristics and mainly affecting children.
