Chocolate From Costa Rica Fails Australian Customs
Australian customs officers have allegedly found a kilogram of cocaine concealed in two boxes of chocolates posted to Melbourne from Costa Rica.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) monitored the delivery of the package to a home in Brighton where they arrested a 30-year-old man.

He has been charged and is expected to appear in the Melbourne Magistrate's Court today.

Jenny Peachey, from the Australian Customs Service, says it sends a clear message about attempts to mail drugs to Australia.

"We do screen a high proportion of mail and letter-class articles," Ms Peachey said.

"We have very skilled officers who use their training and their experience together with technology and more often than not in every case I would like to say, will identify concealment."
