Venezuela-Russia talks on arms purchase go smoothly
The negotiations between Venezuela and Russia on the purchase of Russian weapons and military equipment are going smoothly, Russian ambassador to Venezuela Mikhail Orlovets said here Wednesday.

After meeting with Venezuelan Vice President Jose Rangel, Orlovets said that the arms purchase is part of bilateral cooperation between Moscow and Caracas.

Orlovets said the purchase will give new impetus to bilateral commercial exchanges and economic development of both countries.

Venezuela will spend 400 million US dollars on buying 100,000 Russian-made AK-103 and AK-104 assault rifles, and 120 million dollars for the first 10 of the total package of 44 Russian helicopters.
