US-Venezuelan relations could
improve: senator
US-Venezuelan relations could
improve in the short term, US
congressman Christopher Dodd, a
Connecticut Democrat, was quoted
by the El Universal daily as
saying Tuesday.
The US senator said relations
between the two countries are of
great importance to the US
Congress.
"We're here to see if we could
start with new relations. It is
worthless to keep on talking
about what has happened.
Washington will turn a new page
in its relations with Caracas in
the new year," Dodd said.
Dodd also held a meeting with
representatives of the National
Assembly, Supreme Court
President Ivan Rincon, and
members of civil organization.
Dodd and Rhode Island Republican

a Democrat from Florida,
concluded a three-day official
visit Monday after meeting with
President Hugo Chavez.
