Venezuela Receives International
Solidarity
Venezuelans and people from
around the world began meeting
in eight of that country´s
states to express their support
to the national transformation
process despite the US efforts
against it.
The 3rd World Meeting of
Solidarity with the Bolivarian
Revolution is seeking to show
international support of the
government of President Hugo
Chavez, three years after the
failed attempt to overthrow him
from office in a coup financed
and supported by Washington.
Members of the organizing
committee said that more than
400 representatives from five
continents and more than 50
national and foreign experts
will attend the meetings to
simultaneously discuss eight
issues.
The meetings, ending on April
16, aim at learning more about
the world, spreading different
thoughts, and exchanging
experiences among social and
political movements and
community groups.
Participants will discuss issues
of agrarian reform, housing
projects, workers and
management, people´s
participation in the local
environment, communication
sovereignty, indigenous peoples,
African descendants, women´s
movements and education.
The meetings will take place in
the states of Yaracuy, Lara,
Carabobo, Bolívar, Miranda,
Anzoátegui, Barinas and the
capital.
