Excerpts #31 and #32 (from a collection of 48) from A QUIET STREAM
by Michael J. Nystrom-Schut

  *Thirty-one*
We mind our thoughts, which expand

01     We are focused about what we choose to think as we have come to understand that thoughts are energy, and energy expands.

02     We have grown to respect the power and influence of thought.

03
Thoughts define and create our destiny in life.

04
Our thoughts are who and what we are; the more we think on a thing, the more that it becomes what we think.  In that sense, we know we truly do become our thoughts.

05     We assess within ourselves what it is that we think about all of our waking moments.

06
Are we thinking positive, life-affirming thoughts?  Are our thoughts destructive or toxic? Our inner witness whispers to us “which are which?”

07     We examine the results that our thoughts have on our lives, and the lives of others. Where are they taking us? Which path are they pushing us towards?

08     Our eyes of flesh and eyes of faith see the Universe as a positive place.

09     When we allow our thoughts to dwell on the positive connections, we proceed along our spiritual path.

10     Any and each of our thoughts are a choice; a choice ours to make, each waking moment.

11     When we choose to fill our minds with rich spiritual affirmations, ideas and truths, given time (and patience) we quietly (but with great glee) note that we have stepped into those thoughts; we have become them.

12     More and more, as we understand the energy in the expansion of thought, we know to place our mind on what we want and need in our lives to expand, no longer having time and giving attention to anything of lesser value.

13     As these events take place and unfurl, we give our mind over to the Mind of the Universe and our thoughts mingle with those of the Universe.

*Thirty-two*
We are directed from within

01     The outside world has come to have a lessor bearing on our interior world.

02     We have arrived at a place where we are directed from within.

03     Through our Internal Witness, we observe the people, places and things in our world, and note that they have some influence on our thoughts and actions. But they do not control us like before.

04     Our course has come to be directed from an Inner Force, and we have come to understand it as our inseparable Union with God.

05     We no longer depend on things like external substances, pressure from people and peers, sunny days, sensory entertainment, pleasurable physical sensation or material acquisition to supplement, direct and motivate our being and doing.

06     All of those, having been supplanted by a growing Inner Awareness, fall from the lofty perches where we had previously exalted them in past times and spaces.

07     They are no more the same in us. In our perpetual now moments, there is little place for them.

08     So we proceed along our path with only traces of dependence on what was before, for that which guides us steadily along now – this powerful Union with which we have connected – is our sustenance.

09     It vibrates into our being, with its throbbing glow, never leaving us, as we persist along our path.
