A new Banco de costa
Rica (BCR) policy has
taken many of its
customers by surprise -
the bank is now charging
us$5 per year for the
use of its debit card.
ICE To Promote
Energy Savings With Change To
Fluorescent Lamps
The Instituto Costarricense de
Electricidad (ICE) is proposing changing
some 750.000 incandescent light bulbs to
fluorescent compact lamps, which consume
less energy. The change will begin this
year in an effort to save on energy.
Exports Up 14 Percent
In 2007, Costa Rican
exports increased by 14
percent as compared to
those in 2006, going
from us$82 billion to
us$9.3 billion.
