A downtown lottery vendor on Avenida Central has come up with a new way to sell his lottery tickets and for a healthy profit - hold a raffle. The vendor raffles off 40 lottery tickets worth ˘8.000 colones for 20 chances at ˘500 colones each. Sometimes he sells the 20 raffles in 10 minutes, other times it takes him more than an hour.
