The Consejo de Seguridad Vial (Cosevi)
and the Policía de Tránsito want
to ensure a safe back to school
next week, as the school year
begins next Tuesday, February 7,
by issuing some 11.000 students
reflective stickers to be placed
on clothing and backpacks, to
allow them better visibility by
drivers.

Downtown San
José was again
the scene of a
spectacular
fire, as
warehouse/store
between Avendas
4 adn 6 on Calle
8, caught fire.
Fortunately no
one was hurt in
the blaze that
completely
destroyed the
building and the
contents which
were for the
most school
supplies. Many
of the downtown
buildings are
too old and in
poor condition
that fires as
such will be
more common,
according to the
Bomberos (fire

Central

Central de Costa Rica (BCCR) -
Central Bank - Franciso De Paula
Gutiérrez, is predicting that
the inflation rate for this year
will be 8%, as the country
maintains an inflation down
