Rescue work isn't limited to
just saving humans. In the above

from the firm Provida rescued a
suicidal dog - a zaguate (street
dog) - that apparently attempted
suicide by throwing itself off
the Los Anonos bridge, the
bridge on the old road to Escazú
west of La Sabana. The dog,
according to witnesses, was
perched on a rock 250 metres
below bridge for a couple of
days.

residents of Buenos Aires de
Puntarenas were shocked to learn
of the gruesome acts of a 39
year old man who killed and
dismembered his 63 year old
mother with a machete, making "picadillo"
(mince meat) of her.
