based on a "exit poll".

Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN),
Óscar Arias, is confident that
he will obtain the required 40%
of the popular vote and no need
for a second round election. The
former president assures that
the Arista movement will triumph
tonight.

Booths Closed, Costa Ricans
Await Results
Following 12 hours of voting the
poll booths are closed and Costa
Ricans are holding on to hear
the final results. The Tribunal
Supremo de Elecciones (TSE),
will begin to offer voting
results beginning at 8pm.
