Nobel Laureate Saramago Defends Lula
Portuguese author José Saramago, winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize for Literature, condemned the ''disproportionate'' protests at the World Social Forum against the president of the host country, Brazil's Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
