Indian Wounded in Ecuador Protests Dies
A 60-year-old Indian woman
died from gunshot wounds suffered in a confrontation with soldiers during
protests against the Ecuadorian government, the Confederation of Indigenous
Nationalities, or Conaie, said Wednesday. The woman died in a hospital in
the Andean city of Cuenca a day after being wounded during Monday's clashes
in the Navon district, Conaie spokesman Jose Yungan told EFE.
