US comic legend Bob Hope, one of the great icons of 20th century entertainment, died Sunday of pneumonia less than two months after celebrating his 100th birthday.

Born Leslie Townes Hope on May 29, 1903 in Eltham, England, Hope made his entry into show business as a dancer in an act called the Jollie Follies in 1924.He then broke into radio before moving to Hollywood, where he made 55 films.
