speeding truck.
The Miami bail-bonds agent -- on the
trail of a South Florida fugitive who sent
the ruffians -- was struck, pinned by the
vehicle against a wall, run over and left
for dead.
"It almost cost me my life,"
Garcia said five years after the encounter.
"I had no business being there

looking for arms expected to leave Iraq next
month
A US team
hunting for weapons of mass destruction is
winding down its operations in Iraq and is
expected to leave the war-torn country next
month.
The team,
formally known as the 75th Exploitation Task
Force, has been described from the very
start as the principal component of the US
plan to discover and display the forbidden
Iraqi weapons, The Washington Post reported
Sunday.

Gov't - Opposition Talks Endangered
Venezuela's ruling
parties want the talks between the
opposition and the government to move to
parliament.
The announcement was made on the eve of a
visit by the deputy foreign ministers of
the ''group of friends'' countries that
are assisting the negotiating table in
seeking a solution to the political
crisis.
''We propose continuing the negotiations
through our own institutions,'' said Omar
Mezza, spokesman for the ruling Fifth
Republic Movement (MVR) party. ''The
dialogue should take place in the natural,
constitutional venue, the legislature,
