Their trial will take place in the courts of Puntarenas.

On January 17th, 2009 Dominguez was taken to jail after causing a disturbance at an area bar.

At some point, a fire broke out in the cells where Dominguez was being held.

According to prosecutors and the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ), the two defendants did nothing to assist and save Dominguez’s life, despite the defendants being aware of what was happening and having heard Dominguez’s pleas for help.
