August 26th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Unknown assailants sprayed the Colombian embassy in San José with gunfire in the early hours of Friday morning. Authorities of the Judicial Investigation Organization (OIJ) said on Friday they had identified 15 bullet holes in the building as part of their preliminary investigation into the shooting, in which no one was injured.
Security Minister Mario Zamora said on Friday that the gunfire might have come from a large caliber weapon such as an AK-47.
Zamora said that the gunfire came from a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed around 2:00 a.m.
The motive for the shooting is not known at this time, though further information is expected today as the investigation continues.
