Lizano said that high waves and strong swells are expected, especially in the southern pacific zone, due to extra-tropical cyclones in the South Pacific Ocean, the waves and high tides of which are expected to reach Costa Rican shores beginning tomorrow.
The conditions are expected to continue until Saturday.
Lizano said to expect higher than usual tides, and warned residents and visitors to be particularly careful in areas known to be flood-prone, such as Caldera, Playa Azul (Tarcoles), and Palo Seco.
Lizano said that beach-goers and those in small boats should also exercise caution.
