5.2 magnitude earthquake shook Punta Burica

March 14th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck near Punta Burica in the southern Pacific zone of Costa Rica at 9:45pm last night, as confirmed by the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory (OVSICORI).

 

The epicenter was 87 kilometers southwest of Punta Burica, at a depth of 35 kilometers.

 

Residents of Puntarenas, Perez Zeledon, and Heredia all reported shaking.  There are no reports of injuries or damage.
