March 13th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) – The country’s ombudsman, known locally as the Defensoria de los Habitantes, will be listening to complaints today between 9:30am and 2:30pm in Tilaran in the old Juzgado Contravencional building.
Inquiries and complaints submitted to the ombudsman do not require special formalities and can be submitted both verbally and in writing.
The ombudsman has jurisdiction to intervene in matters related to the public sector, which include institutions such as the CCSS, municipalities, ICE, AyA, the IMAS, MEP, MAG, and the Ministry of Health, amongst others.
