
March 5th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) The Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AyA) said it would be performing preventive maintenance on the Tres Rios Water Treatment Plant today, which will leave a large swath of central San Jose without water this afternoon.
The interruption in water service is expected to last from 2pm until 8pm.
The areas affected are: San Francisco de Dos Rios, Zapote, Barrio Cordoba, Quesada Duran, Barrio Luján, Cherith, Plaza González Viquez, Vasconia Cascajal Gardens, United Nations, Barrio La Cruz, Morazán, Ammon, Bella Vista, Los Yoses , Escalante, Francisco Peralta, Los Angeles and other parts of the city center.
It is estimated that some 266,000 residents will be affected by the outage.
