March 5th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) After the fire that occurred on the roof of the National Stadium on Sunday night, an issue came to light: the National Stadium has no insurance to cover the damage.
In fact, the National Stadium has only one liability policy which it only obtained six months ago, and lacks coverage for damage caused to the stadium, be it fire, earthquake, or other damages – some two years after the stadium was inaugurated.
The administrator, Edgar Barrantes, said they are in the process of acquiring insurance.
The insurance firm, ASSA, confirmed that days ago stadium officials did request some quotes, but have not reached a decision.
