February 5th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Problems in the water supply in Heredia are expected to continue until this afternoon.
Over the weekend, at least 160,000 residents of the city of Heredia were affected by problems in the water supply service, after a car hit one of the power poles in the area of La Aurora, which resulted in power problems at pumping stations operated by the Public Service Company of Heredia (ESPH).
“In addition to this, we have a blown engine at an important well,” Nathalie Montiel from ESPH said yesterday.
According to Montiel, for the time being ESPH is expecting low water pressure in the areas of central Heredia, Mercedes Norte, Mercedes Sur, San Francisco, La Aurora, and Cubujuquí, affecting 70,000 people in total. ESPH hopes to have the problem resolved this afternoon.
