Walmart in Tibas to open today

January 25th, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Walmart will open its eighth store in Costa Rica today, located in front of the “Pops” ice cream store in Tibas.

 

The company sent an invitation to local media for the store’s inauguration, set to begin at 8am this morning.

 

Walmart says it has invested about $19.2 million in the new store, which will employ about 180 people.  The supermarket has an approximate area of 26,000 square meters.

 

Walmart’s other stores in the country are located in San Sebastian, Escazu, Curridabat, Heredia, Alajuela, Cartago, and Guadalupe.
