Costa Rica exceeded export goals in 2012

January 23rd, 2013 (InsideCostaRica.com) Costa Rica exceeded its export goals for goods and services last year.  The country achieved exports of $16.87 billion, while the government’s stated goal was $15.75 billion for 2012, according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade (Comex).

 

Services represented $5.5 billion of total exports, an 8.9% increase over 2011.

 

Costa Rica’s primary exports in 2012 were electronic devices (19.9%), pineapple (7%), and bananas (6.8%).

 

Medical devices used for the infusion and transfusion of serums represented 4% of exports, while coffee represented 3.6%.
