November 20th, 2012 (InsideCostaRica.com) This year, “Black Friday” deals won’t only be found in shopping malls. For the first time, tourism operators are getting in on the shopping frenzy, which has caught on in Costa Rica in recent years. Around 20 tourism operators are offering discounts of 50% – or more – on various vacation packages, aimed at the domestic tourism market. There are promotions on lodging, car rentals, local flights, adventure tours and more.
The deputy director of the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR), Tatiana Cascante, said the initiative is aimed primarily at the Costa Rican domestic tourist market. Lodging options as part of the promotion include Herradura, Nandayure, La Fortuna, Monteverde and San Jose. Discounts are available on CANATUR’s website at www.canatur.org.
