October 4th – Credomatic is warning its clients about a “phishing” email that some clients have received, requesting clients to update account information via a fraudulent page. Phishing emails and the web sites to which they lead are often made up to look extremely similar to the actual bank web site.
“For your own security, if you receive any sort of information request via email, we suggest that you ignore it,” Credomatic said in a press release.
The institution has asked clients to call 2295-9898, or send an email to info@credomatic.com, if they believe their account may have been compromised or for additional information.
Credomatic cards are issued by BAC San Jose, which is also the only issuer of American Express cards in Costa Rica.
