Chirripo’s old signs to be sold at auction, proceeds to go to maintain Chirripo National Park

CERRO CHIRRIPO, COSTA RICA — August 28th, 2012 — Those who love nature, good causes and especially Cerro Chirripo, will have the opportunity to participate in the auction of the old signs that have marked the area for the last 15 years in this beautiful location.

 

Beginning August 24th, those who are interested in having a little piece of Chirripo in their home or office can enter the auction via the Banco Nacional website, www.bncr.fi.cr and place an offer for one of the 35 most classic signs.

 

The director of the Chirripo National Park,  Bernal Balderramos, stated that the funds raised will be used towards the maintenace the protected area, as the costs of preserving and maintaining the park are very high due to its difficult access.

 

The auction started on the internet on August 24th on Banco Nacional’s website, and will conclude on August 30th in the bank’s auditorium, combining the virtual auction with the live auction at 6:00 pm.
